This policy explains what Shoeswap does with your data. Shoeswap is a marketplace for swapping single shoes.
Account: your email address, so you can sign in. We sign you in with a link sent to that address, so we never store a password.
Profile: the name, username, city, country, website and picture you choose to add. Your city and country are looked up once as approximate coordinates, so shoes can be sorted by distance. Your profile, including your city, is visible to everyone.
Shoes: the photos and details you list, visible to everyone.
Swaps and messages: your swap requests, the messages you send, and who marked a swap as complete, so both sides can follow the swap.
Visiting the site: our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address to serve and secure the site. When you are not signed in, your approximate location is estimated from your IP address to sort shoes by distance. That estimate is used for the page you are looking at and is not stored.
We process your account, profile, listings and messages to provide the service you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We process technical data to operate and secure the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
We only use cookies that keep you signed in. There is no advertising or analytics tracking, so there is no cookie banner.
We use service providers who process data on our behalf:
Until you delete it. Deleting your account removes your profile, your shoes and their images, your saved shoes, your follows, your conversations and your ratings. You can delete your account at any time on your account page. Backups and server logs held by our providers are deleted on their own schedule.
You can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected or deleted, object to or restrict its processing, and ask for it in a portable form. Write to [your@email]. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
